Why people insist on being gangster on the freeway despite the rain, I'll never know. |

TWILIGHT WAS AWFUL. I felt so bad for the actors as they forced out those sorry one-liners. AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE DAZZLING? OMG THE DAZZLING! I forget reading the part where Edward turned into a 3rd grade arts and craft project in direct sunlight...that or a gay man abusing his body glitter before a night out on the town. The attempt to emulate an indie film was noble; the ambient sounds and the blue tint gave it a moody feel but other than than, the acting was sad and the script was sadder. That being said, Robert Pattinson seems sexier to me, too bad he doesn't wash his hair. Ew. |

| | Oh! You Pretty Things | ] | I purposefully didn't turn in availability hours because for the past four years I've been a workaholic. So, I'd like to take time to dedicate a post on things I'm currently excited about...
 1. Silk screening outside. The Friday of finals week, I got up real early so I could clean out the shed to make room for a screen printing table. Today I'm buying some hinge clamps and I'm good to go. I've still got a ton of crap lying around in boxes but those are supposedly going to be shipped to the Philippines so it's hands-off until my dad calls his cronies to take them away.
 2. Graduating, duh! Actually, nix that. I was more enthused by hanging out with everyone at graduation and at the party. <333
 3. I learned to thread hair from this chick's video. idk if this is tmi (ucwidt?) but my upper lip is fuzz free now! That picture is from google.
 4. Selling stuff. I met this really cool girl in a jewelry making class a year ago at LBCC. She wants to be a jeweler and make things on her free time but seeing as how soldering is dangerous and firey, she's gonna do the next best thing: beading. (This is funny because the first day of class, our teacher vehemently stated that she's against any form of beading...I almost left because I honestly thought she was going to teach us how to make pretty beaded shit.) The other day she came over with skull beads and we worked for a while in none other than my silk screening studio :-D Anyhoo, we're going to combine our powers and make an etsy account and maybe she'll bring me when she sells them at fairs and whatnot. One more thing, the little skulls are made of real yak bone and she also strung them up with real pearls! See the larger picture here.
 5. Rocky Votolato is touring again. You know what this means...:-D!!!
6. I have chicken skin on my arms so I exfoliate everytime I shower with a scrub I made. It's one cup of sugar and a half cup of olive oil. It's working out pretty well so far. Speaking of olive oil, one of my friends just drank a cup and a half of EVOO, lol. It's supposed to clean out your intestines...I'll stick to rubbing it on my arms.
7 & 8. Mum's the word on these two but as soon as I'm allowed I'll spill the beans.
Anything you guys wanna share? |

| My book! |
[May. 29th, 2008|06:00 pm] |
I told Robin I'd silkscreen the entire book and the moment I said that, the pressure washer decided to break. I didn't get to finish the entire book but I did get this done. That's right, the book cover.

My parents had a new alarm system put in yesterday but failed to tell me that it would quickly disarm the moment I opened the back door. They were testing the alarm last night and it sounded like a polite little cricket chirp. My sister and I were laughing about how the burglars would probably be lulled to sleep by it. Anyway, I drop Bianca off this morning and when I came back home, this horrible, high pitched noise penetrated my ears and I had to run to box thing to disarm it. Only I forgot what the code was because my dad had told me in passing and I brushed it off. For THREE WHOLE MINUTES the thing was going "weeeeeeee weeeeeeeee wrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh" while I racked my brain for that damn code. Well I figured it out and told the police everything was okay but I'm not gonna lie, I peed a little. |

And finally, here's scruffy mountain man, Pierre, and his wife holding up my shirt:

It's not v-neck and the gold on the bowtie wasn't printed but the manager said he'd get fixed during their two week break after Coachella. Anyway, I had lots of sweaty, sticky, musty fun. I wish we had stood next to each other, Renee! |

 IMPECCABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP!
LOL, I'm still trying to get the hang of it but nonetheless it's tons of fun.

| TWIN LENS REFLEX! |
[Oct. 25th, 2007|02:39 pm] |
I just finished my art history midterm YAY! I feel like I've been putting everything off just so I can put every ounce of my attention on studying.
I always syke (sike, psych?) myself out before tests so to calm my nerves and my itchy palms, I precelebrated at the Salvation Army where I found this for ten dollars:

Woohoo! I had been looking for a twin lens reflex camera for a while but ebay always tries to rip you off. ...Ten might have still been a little steep for this old thing but atleast I didn't have to pay shipping!
Here's a picture of what things look like through the view finder (yes, I'm a nerd):
This itty bitty photo doesn't do it justice, click here for the bigger size.
I think I'm going to be taking pictures like this for a while before I actually load it with film haha. |
